💜 November is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month
Join Us in Supporting the Fight Against Alzheimer's
Every November, we honor the more than 6.2 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease and the caregivers who support them. This month is a time to raise awareness, show support, and advocate for a cure.
At Paula Young, we believe in using our platform not only to help you look your best—but to stand with causes that matter.
🧠What is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month?
In 1983, President Ronald Reagan designated November as National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, bringing national attention to this devastating illness.
Today, this month serves as a time to:
- Educate ourselves and others about Alzheimer’s
- Honor those living with the disease and their caregivers
- Promote early detection, healthy habits, and continued research toward a cure
💡 How You Can Get Involved
1. Wear Purple
Purple is the official color of Alzheimer’s awareness. Wear it throughout November to show your support. You can even add a purple frame to your social media profile!
2. Light the World in Teal – November 3, 2025
Participate in the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s Light the World in Teal program—a beautiful visual tribute where landmarks and individuals “go teal” in solidarity.
3. Support Caregivers
November is also National Family Caregivers Month. Take a moment to recognize the caregivers in your life—or offer support to someone who may need it.
4. Educate Yourself and Others
- Learn the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s
- Understand risk factors and how it differs from normal aging
- Share this knowledge to help others catch early signs
5. Encourage Brain-Healthy Habits
Help reduce the risk of cognitive decline with lifestyle habits like:
- Regular exercise
- A nutritious, balanced diet
- Social engagement
- Lifelong learning
6. Get Screened
Memory screenings are a quick and easy way to spot early signs. Visit the National Memory Screening Program to learn more.
7. Donate or Volunteer
- Give to trusted Alzheimer’s research organizations
- Participate in local memory walks
- Volunteer your time at caregiving support groups or awareness events
